The impact of post-traumatic stress on the mental state of university hospital physicians – a cross sectional study. Hospital physicians have an increased risk for post-traumatic stress caused by work-related trauma (2022 Feb 3) https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8815118/ The current study found a difference between the exposure to work-related traumatic situations (“traumatic event/TE”) and flashbacks following work-related traumatic situations (“post-traumatic stress/PTS”) in association with depression symptoms. The physicians’ risks of experiencing symptoms of depression were significantly higher if flashbacks were affirmed. The results indicate the need for physicians’ workplace support such as crisis intervention and good structures of social support among colleges
